About the Role
CHI St. Vincent, a regional health network serving Arkansas and part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a Behavioral Therapist to provide high-quality patient care with expertise in assessment, treatment planning, group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, and discharge planning. The role involves functioning as a key member of a multidisciplinary team and participating in the Unit Community Relations Program.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual psychotherapy sessions, demonstrating theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and effective treatment techniques.
- Conduct family therapy sessions, applying strong theoretical knowledge of family therapy principles and techniques.
- Conduct group therapy sessions, utilizing sound theoretical knowledge of group therapy principles and techniques.
- Lead educational group sessions, demonstrating expertise in subject matter and effective communication skills.
- Engage in timely and efficient discharge planning from admission, collaborating closely with patients, families, guardians, the legal system, nursing staff, and attending physicians.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of the referral/placement process and available community resources.
- Complete social evaluations on assigned patients promptly, showcasing strong interviewing, diagnostic, and report-writing skills.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology from an accredited university.
- One year of field placement or one year of experience working with Chemical Dependency, Mental Health, or Eating Disorders patients.
- Therapist or Counselor License in the State of Arkansas.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- CPI certification required within 90 days of hire.
