Behavior Therapist Position
Merrimack Autism Consultants is currently hiring part-time experienced Behavior Therapists (BT) to provide 1:1 in-home ABA services. In-home sessions are typically held between 2:30 pm and 8:30 pm, some morning/weekend sessions may be available. Applicants must be available to work an average minimum of 10-19 hours per week. Rate of pay will commensurate based on level of education and years of experience.
Behavior Therapist Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 directly with clients with autism using individualized ABA techniques created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Provide support and guidance for the parent/caregiver implementing the behavior plan tactics for when the BT/BCBA's are not in the home.
- Collect data focused on skills and behaviors, conduct discrete trials daily to ensure the client's progress is monitored and objectives are met according to the individualized plan.
- Communicate in a timely manner any concerns, progress, etc. to both the client's family and supervisor.
Qualifications
- You have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have at least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- You must be 18 years old or older and have reliable, consistent transportation.
- You are able to pass a background check and are authorized to work within the U.S.
- You have 6+ months of experience in Behavioral Therapist or similar position.
- You are able to make a 6-month commitment to our clients.
- You must be bilingual (Creole speaking to support language needs).
- You are enthusiastic and passionate about working with children/adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities and are driven to help make a difference.
- CPR certified (will allow 2-week timeline after hire to obtain).
Not Required But Preferred Qualifications
- You have an Associate's Degree in Human Services, Education or Psychology.
- You are a Registered Behavior Technician with an active certification with the BACB and/or you have at least 6 months working with children with autism.
- You have previous professional experience working in the human services, developmental disabilities, or education fields—teachers, paraprofessionals, Day Programs, Group Home caretakers.
