Behavioral Support Specialist

About the role

As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you focus on providing direct behavioral support and supportive services to patients with disruptions in function as a result of mental illness and/or substance abuse. You will work in a 64‑bed adult psychiatric facility, Lasting Hope Recovery Center, where all rooms are private. The center treats co‑occurring mental illness and substance abuse, offering a full range of treatment and prevention services built on personal strengths and support systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral support and supportive services to patients with disruptions in function due to mental illness and/or substance abuse.
• Manage the therapeutic milieu and develop skills for environmental, financial, social, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional wellbeing.
• Work with a team of clinical professionals to implement individualized care plans.
• Promote awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Common Spirit.
• Encourage an environment where patients can solve problems and try out new behaviors
