About the Role
Counsels Tucson Unified School District teachers, administrators, and child study teams in behavior modification programs for students.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, or related area.
- Two years of experience working with culturally diverse students.
- Experience designing behavioral modification plans.
- Demonstrated experience with children who have been identified as having behavioral difficulties.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
- FBI fingerprint background check (prior to start date).
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization (prior to start date).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a member of a child study team.
- Behavior and mental health background.
- Case management experience.
- Experience with students who have had trauma.
- Background working with African American Students and the African American Community.
Schedule
- Effective: 2026-2027 school year.
- Location: African American Student Services - 36th St & Campbell Area.
- FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day.
- Work Calendar: 10.5 month.
- Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
Pay
Higher pay rates funded through a community-approved override, guaranteed through June 2031. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. For more information on the salary schedule, please reference the Employee Agreements Webpage.
