About the role
The Behavior and Academic Specialist will collaborate with teachers and specialists to deliver academic and behavior support services to students.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the instructional coach to address students’ inappropriate behaviors and provide strategies to help students become more academically successful.
- Work with staff to provide classroom and school-wide function-based planning for developing behavior change strategies that focus on reducing problem behavior and increasing appropriate behavior.
- Engage in data-based decision making and ongoing review of documentation and progress monitoring to support management of challenging behaviors and bridge academic gaps.
- Provide classroom-based modeling, coaching, and student-specific interventions; facilitate teacher inquiry and related professional development for academic and behavior support.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A valid ND Teaching Certificate, or
- Licensed in social work, or
- A two-year degree and experience working with children.
Preferred (but not required): ND teaching license and/or experience working as a certified teacher with the ability to obtain a ND teaching license.
Pay
Salary based on the teacher salary schedule, depending on qualifications.
