Behavioral Specialist DSP

About the role

Avancer Homes LLC is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join their team in Genoa, Illinois. This position is suitable for those looking to gain experience in behavioral health or for individuals passionate about serving others.

Responsibilities

• Aid individuals with personal care needs including all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning to maintain a safe and healthy living environment
• Maintain supervision of individuals and facilitate redirection as needed
• Document individual activities, concerns, and progress notes as required
• Participate in and accompany out-of-home activities, including driving company vehicles
• Create an environment free from abuse and neglect at all times

Requirements

• DSP certification required
• At least 22 years of age
• Valid driver's license and transportation to shifts
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Pass a criminal background check
• Minimum 4 years' experience in behavioral health
• Ability to work and communicate calmly and professionally with individuals having behavioral issues
