Behavioral Specialist

Responsibilities

• Carry out functional behavior assessments and create individualized behavior support plans for research participants with challenging behaviors.
• Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions during research visits to enhance participant engagement, safety, and successful completion of study procedures.
• Collaborate with investigators and research staff to develop, implement, and improve behavioral protocols that promote participant cooperation and data quality across various study sites.
• Train and mentor research personnel in behavior management strategies, ABA techniques, crisis prevention, and participant accommodations.
• Maintain accurate records, track behavioral outcomes, participate in study meetings, and ensure compliance with institutional, regulatory, and study requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, with four years of related experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of paid experience implementing behavioral interventions for children and/or adults with autism spectrum disorder or other neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Demonstrated expertise conducting functional behavior assessments and developing individualized behavior support plans.
• Master's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or equivalent professional credential required.
• Experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) interventions and supporting individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in psychology, special education, or a related field, with a minimum of a master's degree. They must also possess a BCBA certification or an equivalent professional credential. Prior experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or other neurodevelopmental disorders is highly desirable, along with a proven ability to conduct functional behavior assessments and develop effective behavior support plans.

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 per year, with the final salary determined by a variety of factors including departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.

Schedule

The Standard Work Schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
