Specific Responsibilities
- Conduct behavioral assessments to identify individual strengths, needs, triggers, and support strategies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior support plans, individualized Crisis Support Plan, et. al.
- Provide one-on-one and group-based behavioral interventions.
- Support clients in developing coping skills, communication skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution strategies.
- Use trauma-informed, person-centered, and affirming approaches in all interactions.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when needed.
- Collaborate with mental health providers, case managers, medical staff, families and community supports.
- Advocate for LGBTQIA+ affirming care and help reduce barriers to accessing behavioral health and support services.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of services, progress, and incidents.
- Monitor progress toward behavioral goals and adjust interventions as appropriate.
- Provide on-going education/training/support of staff and caregivers on effective behavior support strategies and LGBTQIA+ cultural humility.
- Participate in all program planning meetings and case reviews to discuss treatment plan goals, behavioral strategies and objectives, assessments and behavioral observations.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in psychology or related fields from an accredited college or university with plans to enroll in a Master's Degree program from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of one year experience working with people receiving services in care.
- Must possess well developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with team members.
- Capacity to maintain high levels of quality of work and productivity.
- Ideal candidate will be flexible with working hours and demonstrate reliability in relation to attendance and punctuality.
