Behavioral Research Interventionists (Clinical Research Assistant)

Primary Duties

• Implement a volunteering intervention with older adults with dementia in assisted living communities as per the research protocol.
• Execute the research project according to the approved IRB protocol, including assessing participants' abilities and interests, developing individualized volunteer activities, providing motivational support, and reassessing participants' feelings about engagement.
• Work with Assisted Living community staff to implement the intervention, including holding stakeholder meetings and providing staff education and guidance.
• Assist in administrative duties such as communication with study sites and colleagues.
• Maintain notes and records from visits and collect treatment fidelity data.
• Participate in biweekly study team meetings.

Requirements

• Interest in health behavior research with older adults with dementia.
• Experience working with older adults preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study related to the research of the clinical setting.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Schedule

• Part-time schedule ranging from 12 to 19 hours per week.
• Mainly works at the assisted living site located in the greater Baltimore area.
• May not be on a bus route, so access to transportation is needed.
• Expected to be at the assisted living site at least three weekdays per week.
