Qualifications

  • Masters in Psychology or related field required.
  • One to Three (1-3) years’ experience working with the DD population.
  • Must be computer literate, detail-oriented and have excellent verbal and written skills.

Skills

  • Provide psychological services in assigned IRA residence.
  • Assess consumer functioning through standardized instruments and informal methods.
  • Report findings and recommendations to IDT.
  • Develop and monitor behavioral treatment plans and behavior guidelines.
  • Train staff on individual psychological profiles and needs.
  • Follow up on staff performance through direct observation.
  • Prepare consults for psychiatric appointments and make team recommendations regarding medication.
  • Attend regularly scheduled team meetings and residential staff meetings.
  • Obtain and document informed consent for potential consumer rights restrictions.
  • Present individual cases to the HRC monthly and annually.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA practices.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the facility and agency reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Report to IDT the findings and recommendations based on assessments.
  • Monitor consumer progress via formal review of behavioral data and incidents.
  • Discuss treatment team at monthly IDT meetings and ISP meetings.
  • Develop special data collection systems for specific consumer needs.
  • Train staff on individual psychological profiles and needs.
  • Follow up on group training via direct observation of individual staff performance.
  • Act as primary advocate for consumers with all outside providers of mental health or behavioral services.
  • Attend monthly HRC meetings and present individual cases annually.
  • Obtain informed consent for potential consumer rights restrictions.
  • Prepare consults for psychiatric appointments, including team recommendations regarding medication.
  • Maintain regular contact with Medicaid Service Coordinator and Psychology Services Coordinator.
  • Maintain required contact with the CAB representative for Willow Brook Class Individuals.
  • Maintain required contact with the Medicaid Service Coordinator regarding psychiatric or behavioral issues.
  • Be aware that supervision and feedback from the HRC could include modifications to responsibilities or additions of new ones.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
