About the role

NorthStar Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Treatment Liaison to serve as the primary link between community organizations and churches to the youth served in our Adolescent Behavioral Health Program.

Responsibilities

  • Educate youth, families, and community members about behavioral health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Attend community events and provide screening services to potential youth in need of behavioral health services.
  • Refer youth to The Crossroads Center for formal assessments when needed.
  • Develop treatment goals and objectives to address youth behavioral health needs.
  • Track treatment outcomes to determine efficacy of treatment.
  • Teach life skills to support youth development and independence.
  • Model and link youth with prosocial activities to promote healthy social connections.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention.

Requirements

  • Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) Certification in the state of Ohio is required. Preliminary will be accepted.
  • Must be eligible for Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) credentialing.
  • Associate’s Degree in psychology, social work, or related field is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurance.
  • Ability to communicate with and relate to a diverse group of people, including clients, community, and other staff.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test and Influenza (Flu) vaccination within the past year.
  • Ability to work a shift of 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (M-F).
  • Ability to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 15 lbs.

  • Experience working with adolescents and their families.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse disorders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
