About the role

Serve a rural population with a significant need for accessible mental health care. Make a direct, visible difference in the lives of individuals and families who may otherwise have limited access to behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

  • Work side-by-side with primary care, psychiatry, psychology, and PT/OT providers in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in shared case reviews, consultations, and coordinated treatment planning for holistic patient care.
  • Conduct scheduled face-to-face therapy sessions designed to assess and improve patient's emotional, mental, and behavioral health.
  • Develop treatment plans and implement treatment interventions specific to patient needs.
  • Continually assess patient's progress and revise diagnosis(es), treatment plans, and interventions accordingly.
  • Document treatment sessions.
  • Provide patient progress updates to interdisciplinary team, as needed.
  • May educate patient support members about patient issues and interventions.
  • May refer for additional clinical services or to specialists, as needed.
  • Stay current on emerging issues in the profession.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related Behavioral Health Sciences required; graduation from an accredited school preferred.
  • Licenses must be in good standing in state(s) of practice. In North Dakota, must have one of the following licenses: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Qualifications

  • Total independence and responsibility for patient well-being.

Skills

  • Broad and thorough understanding of human behavior, theories of counseling, and psychopathology.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of patient populations and presenting issues.
  • Experience in a variety of treatment modalities.
