About the role
Serve a rural population with a significant need for accessible mental health care. Make a direct, visible difference in the lives of individuals and families who may otherwise have limited access to behavioral health services.
Responsibilities
- Work side-by-side with primary care, psychiatry, psychology, and PT/OT providers in a multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in shared case reviews, consultations, and coordinated treatment planning for holistic patient care.
- Conduct scheduled face-to-face therapy sessions designed to assess and improve patient's emotional, mental, and behavioral health.
- Develop treatment plans and implement treatment interventions specific to patient needs.
- Continually assess patient's progress and revise diagnosis(es), treatment plans, and interventions accordingly.
- Document treatment sessions.
- Provide patient progress updates to interdisciplinary team, as needed.
- May educate patient support members about patient issues and interventions.
- May refer for additional clinical services or to specialists, as needed.
- Stay current on emerging issues in the profession.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related Behavioral Health Sciences required; graduation from an accredited school preferred.
- License must be in good standing in state(s) of practice.
- In North Dakota, must have one of the following licenses: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Qualifications
- Total independence and responsibility for patient well-being.
Skills
- Broad and thorough understanding of human behavior, theories of counseling, and psychopathology.
- Foundation in a variety of treatment modalities.
