Behavioral Health Therapist - Adult Behavioral Health

Role Overview Provides individual and group therapy on inpatient behavioral health units to support patients' treatment goals. Responsibilities Conducts assessments, develops, reviews, and updates individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.Facilitates group process-oriented therapy sessions, utilizing CBT and brief therapies, tailored to patient populations.Provides supportive and situational interventions, setting limits and guiding learning during therapy and milieu management.Documents clinical impressions, progress, and interventions accurately and promptly using the DAIR format.Employs CPI techniques to assist in controlling aggressive or violent behaviors.Assists in discharge planning, guardianship issues, and family support, ensuring compliance with legal and confidentiality regulations.Contributes to creating a safe, therapeutic milieu by promoting patient and staff safety, conflict resolution, and de-escalation strategies.Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, staffing, and community collaboration to optimize patient care. Qualifications & Skills Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.Certification in CPI Crisis Prevention Institute training.Ability to utilize usual equipment, travel between facilities, and drive own vehicle for work-related duties.Knowledge of mental health laws, confidentiality, guardianship, and reporting requirements.Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills, with a focus on trauma-informed care and patient safety.
