Behavioral Health Therapist - Adult Behavioral Health

Role Overview: This position supports an interdisciplinary team in assessing, planning, and delivering psychotherapy and counseling services to patients on inpatient behavioral health units. Responsibilities Include Providing individual and group therapy to help patients achieve treatment goals, utilizing techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and brief therapies.Facilitating daily group sessions, supporting patients with situational interventions, and managing milieu dynamics.Completing initial and ongoing assessments, documenting clinical impressions, progress, and interventions clearly and promptly.Collaborating with team members to develop and update individualized treatment plans, participating in clinical staffing, discharge planning, and family interventions.Ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment by following policies, setting behavioral limits, de-escalating conflicts, and modeling appropriate behavior using CPI methods.Maintaining knowledge of relevant laws, reporting abuse or neglect when necessary, and assisting in guardianship and legal documentation. Qualifications & Skills Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.Certification in CPI Crisis Prevention Institute Training.Ability to use standard equipment, travel, and drive as needed.Strong assessment, documentation, teamwork, and de-escalation skills, with knowledge of mental health laws and confidentiality standards. This role emphasizes providing therapeutic care, ensuring safety, and supporting treatment team collaboration to promote patient recovery in a dynamic inpatient setting.
