About the Role

Sovah Danville is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician in the Behavioral Health Unit to provide services to ensure a safe environment for psychiatric patients in a locked inpatient unit setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs continual surveillance of behavioral health unit monitors and operates the patient-monitoring system
• Monitors dining/day rooms and hallways on Behavioral Health when occupied by patients to assure patient safety in the environment
• Monitors patients for suspicious behavior indicating the possibility of self-harm
• Reports incidents, utilizes nursing staff for concerns, discusses recent issues, and any pertinent patient details with the covering/on-coming behavioral health monitor technician
• Recognizes patient behaviors in the dining/dayroom and hallway environment that may result in an unsafe situation

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
