Oceans Behavioral Hospital Lufkin focuses on helping adults and seniors manage mental health issues through various therapies and treatment options.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to professional standards, policies, and procedures.
• Supports nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic environment.
• Assists in inventorying patient belongings and securing contraband.
• Completes unit safety checks and implements infection control policies.
• Performs vital signs, weights, ADLs, intake and output documentation, and nutritional monitoring.
• Assists patients with laundry, meals, bathroom functions, and maintains belongings.
• Communicates and documents patient observations and vital signs accurately.
• Communicates with nursing staff about completed tasks and ongoing patient needs.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent with CNA certification or at least 6 months of prior bedside, direct patient care experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with diverse populations.
• Good physical and mental health.
• Successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans-approved behavioral de-escalation program.
