Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) - BH Adolescent

About the role

Centerpoint Health - Paris, formerly Bourbon Community Hospital, is a 58-bed acute care facility in the heart of the Bluegrass. The Behavioral Health department offers a 33-bed inpatient facility with a multi-disciplinary approach, including psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, therapists, nurses, social workers, mental health technicians, recreation therapists, Kentucky certified teachers, and certified therapy dogs.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of an RN, assist in assuring optimal patient care.
• Patient Monitoring & Safety: Observe patients closely, document behaviors, and ensure a safe, secure environment.
• Support Daily Living Activities: Assist patients with hygiene, meals, routines, and basic care needs.
• Implement Treatment Plans: Follow care plans developed by clinicians, including leading or supporting therapeutic activities.
• Crisis Intervention: De-escalate situations and respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional crises.
• Documentation & Communication: Record patient progress and communicate updates to nurses, therapists, and the care team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Nursing Assistant Certificate (SRNA/CNA) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Handle with Care certification required within 7 days of hire.
