About the Role
Beckett Springs Behavioral Health Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Unit Clerk to join our team in West Chester, OH. We provide inpatient and outpatient programming for those facing mental health and addiction challenges, with specialized programs for children, adolescents, adults, seniors, active duty military, veterans, first responders, and other frontline professionals.
How You'll Contribute
- Greet patients and visitors
- Answer, screen, and route telephone calls
- Call codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested
- Enter nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse
- Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges
- Assemble and maintain patient records and charts
- Perform needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies
- Assist RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed
- Assist Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) when needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPR and de-escalation certification required within 30 days of hire
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients preferred
