Behavioral Health Technician

About the role

Embark Behavioral Health in Bend, Oregon is hiring compassionate, purpose-driven Behavioral Health Technicians to support preteens ages 10–17 in a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment. The role emphasizes experiential learning, animal-assisted activities, academic support, and emotional skill-building.

Responsibilities

• Ensure client safety and emotional well-being through active supervision and documentation
• Maintain structure and boundaries to foster a supportive environment
• Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care
• Assist with academic tasks and daily routines
• Participate in recreational and therapeutic activities (arts, crafts, sports, nature walks)
• Support residential upkeep, animal care, and occasional meal service

Qualifications

• Age: 21+ years
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required; Associates or bachelor’s in human services, psychology, criminal justice preferred, or minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Services
• Experience: Minimum 1 year working with adolescent populations preferred
• Driver’s License: Valid Oregon Driver’s License with a clean driving record and company insurability
• Certifications: CPR and First Aid preferred (training provided)
• Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal/state background checks per Oregon state laws

Pay

Hourly Pay: $21.25 – $24.00, DOE
