About the role
Embark Behavioral Health in Bend, Oregon is hiring compassionate, purpose-driven Behavioral Health Technicians to support preteens ages 10–17 in a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment. The role emphasizes experiential learning, animal-assisted activities, academic support, and emotional skill-building.
Responsibilities
- Ensure client safety and emotional well-being through active supervision and documentation
- Maintain structure and boundaries to foster a supportive environment
- Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care
- Assist with academic tasks and daily routines
- Participate in recreational and therapeutic activities (arts, crafts, sports, nature walks)
- Support residential upkeep, animal care, and occasional meal service
Qualifications
- Age: 21+ years
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required; Associates or bachelor’s in human services, psychology, criminal justice preferred, or minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Services
- Experience: Minimum 1 year working with adolescent populations preferred
- Driver’s License: Valid Oregon Driver’s License with a clean driving record and company insurability
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid preferred (training provided)
- Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal/state background checks per Oregon state laws
Pay
Hourly Pay: $21.25 – $24.00, DOE
