We are seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to add to our dynamic team! Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) are integral in the overall functioning of the facility. In all instances, BHTs will interact with the patient in accordance with established treatment policies and procedures. BHTs may facilitate patient orientation, as necessary. Responsibilities Assist in luggage and body searchesMonitor and sometimes facilitate the Book Studies and Recovery meetingsMust be aware of patient locations, at all times, circulating around the facility on a regular basis and document hourly checksAssure that all patients follow the Bradford Program Schedule and are on time for each assignmentSupervise and sometime facilitate patient activities as directedAssure the patients are in their rooms at the designated time in the eveningOversee med line to prevent diversion and to de-escalate situations as they ariseAssist patients to and from activities, medication times, and meals when unable to physically walkAssist the counselor as assigned and engage in appropriate documentationResponsible for the adherence to all applicable policies and proceduresDemonstrate the ability to assist patients in overcoming their denial and resistance to treatment and completion of treatment goalsDemonstrate the ability to manage communities, redirect behavior, and document shift reportsAttend staff training and programs as directedAssist nurses as directed by supervisorDrive patients to and from appointments, to include patient outings, as directedDrive to purchase patient sundries and miscellaneous items; including nicotine products as directed Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science, CRC, or CRSS preferred; one year experience in alcohol/drug treatment with direct patient contact preferredCandidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate a basic understanding of the principles of chemical dependency recoveryMaintain records and have good communication skillsMust have valid driver’s license and good driving recordMust be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds of the facility for approximately one (1) mile per every eight (8) hour shiftMust be able to continuously sit for approximately three (3) hours per eight (8) hour shiftMust be able to administer CPR and be certifiedMust be able to see and hear constantlyMust be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situationsMust be able to stand continuously in increments of 45 minutes to one (1) hourIf recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence We’re officially a Great Place to Work®!
