About the role

We are looking to hire a Behavioral Health Tech at MercyOne Genesis. This position provides safe, quality patient care as delegated by the Nurse Manager. Key responsibilities include patient unit orientation, setting behavior expectations, leading group sessions, assisting with patient personal care, and performing health monitoring activities.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon admission to the Behavioral Health Unit
• Provide the patient with the standard daily activity schedule and set behavior expectations
• Lead group sessions to develop patient relationships
• Develop and track daily goals with patients
• Offer interventions if patient situations escalate
• Absorb and provide patient personal care
• Perform health monitoring activities

Requirements

• General Requirements: More than 2 years' experience required
• Education: High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
• Training: Basic Life Support, CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)

Qualifications

• Preferred: Medical terminology, CNA, Previous Behavioral Health Experience

Skills

Ability to establish rapport and trust with patients and the ability to offer interventions if patient situations escalate.
