About the role

This position involves supervising and training employees, ensuring compliance with training and certification requirements, handling performance evaluations and disciplinary actions, and managing payroll and time card issues.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively orients and trains supervised employees in job duties.
  • Conducts timely performance evaluations in collaboration with clinical supervisors and processes related paperwork.
  • Coordinates performance evaluation meetings with Treatment/Clinical Assistants and Treatment Coordinators.
  • Addresses disciplinary issues with supervised employees in collaboration with the clinical team; documents and processes disciplinary actions according to policies and procedures.
  • Conducts and coordinates on-the-job training for new employees using the Treatment/Clinical Assistant training plan.
  • Ensures newly hired Behavioral Health Specialists obtain their CDCAs and QMHSs within the required timeframe.
  • Conducts and/or coordinates safety training for new and transferred employees using the Agency safety training checklist.
  • Monitors training attendance and compliance with employees’ training schedules to ensure minimum training requirements are met.
  • Processes payroll and handles time card issues for supervised employees.
  • Provides in-service training for staff on new policies, procedures, contract, or accreditation requirements.
  • Assists with processing grievances and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Reviews required documentation daily (e.g., shift reports, sanitation completion, incident reports, Care Logic Reports, UDS reports, Safety and Security Check Sheets) and follows up on critical items.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must complete 50 hours of training in the first 60 days of hire to become a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist under Medicaid guidelines.
  • Must be eligible and willing to obtain a CDCA within three months of employment.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude regarding the disease concept of addiction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with regulations governing the disclosure of client information and storage of client records.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that does not preclude coverage under Agency liability insurance.
