Job Summary

The IMT Behavioral Health Specialist plays a crucial role in a multi-disciplinary team providing comprehensive, integrated, and flexible services to individuals with mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders. Services are provided in natural settings, 24/7, and tailored to each participant's needs and goals.

Program/Department Description

Intensive Mobile Treatment (IMT) is an innovative, trauma-informed, harm reduction-oriented mobile practice model designed to provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to individuals who have not been adequately served by traditional services. IMT teams work collaboratively with various systems and settings to help participants achieve housing and other personal and safety goals.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Complete required assessments and evaluations as needed on a rotating schedule; assigned assessments are completed on time.
  • Complete progress notes for all contacts, collaterals, and engagement attempts within 2 business days.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or other Health and Human Services related field; LMSW preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with individuals with a mental health condition and co-occurring substance use disorder.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule, mornings, evenings, and weekends to respond to participant needs.
  • Skills: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, creativity, flexibility, initiative, responsibility, teamwork, conflict mediation, negotiation, assertiveness, community work, public transportation, computer proficiency, and bilingual Spanish-speaking ability.
  • Other: Must be fingerprinted and cleared by the New York State Justice Center.
