About the role

The Behavioral Health Specialist supports the milieu by facilitating therapeutic skills and activity groups, providing therapeutic meal support at mealtimes and snacks, assisting clients in acquiring skills to manage their eating disorder, maintaining a recovery-oriented environment, and providing general support and assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates therapeutic skills and activity groups, including CBT and DBT, self-monitoring groups, and experiential activity groups which may include art activities, music, journaling, mindfulness, relaxation, and movement.
  • Participates in therapeutic supported meals and snacks.
  • Provides milieu support.
  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a recovery-oriented therapeutic environment.
  • Participates in client therapeutic outings.
  • May meet with residents to provide support and provide in-the-moment skills coaching.
  • Supports individualized treatment plans as developed by therapist and treatment team.
  • Participates in treatment team, mini team, therapy team, and/or case consultation meetings.
  • Participates in scheduled supervision meetings and seeks supervision when needed.
  • Engages, coaches, monitors, and supports residents as needed.
  • Completes clinical documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of proprietary information, which includes but is not limited to, trade secrets, sensitive company information, and any company information not made available to the public.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of former and current clients’ protected health information, as directed by state and federal law, and Emily Program and Veritas Collaborative policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality in any position with access to employee personal information.
  • Completes all assigned mandatory trainings.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a mental, behavioral, counseling, or behavioral sciences health-related field is strongly preferred.
  • OR An associate’s degree may be considered if combined with equivalent experience in the mental or behavioral health field.
  • A minimum of 1 years of direct patient care experience in a mental/behavioral health setting is required.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting hourly range between $21.00-24.00. Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position.
