About the Role

The Behavioral Health Skills Trainer provides strengths-based, trauma-informed support to youth and families involved in foster care, adoption, or guardianship. Working with youth between the ages 3–18, the Skills Trainer helps children and adolescents develop social, emotional, behavioral, and independent living skills that promote stability, resilience, and success in home, school, and community settings. The Skills Trainer maintains a small caseload to ensure individualized support and works collaboratively with caregivers, treatment providers, schools, and community partners to coordinate services and promote positive outcomes for youth and families.

In addition to providing direct services and care coordination, the Skills Trainer will participate in an on-call rotation one week per month to support youth and families outside of regular business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strengths-based, trauma-informed support to youth and families.
  • Help children and adolescents develop social, emotional, behavioral, and independent living skills.
  • Maintain a small caseload for individualized support.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, treatment providers, schools, and community partners.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation one week per month.

Requirements

  • Crisis Management and/or De-escalation experience.
  • Experience working within the foster care system.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience relevant to skills training.
  • Willing and able to work 40 hours per week.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and full coverage auto insurance.
  • Satisfactory results of fingerprinting and background checks.

Qualifications Provided by Agency

  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training.
  • Tier 1 Collaborative Problem Solving training.

Pay

Competitive pay starting at $21.73/hr. Additional stipend for on-call shift: $400/wk.
