Behavioral Health School Based Internship, Lancaster OH

About the role

The National Youth Advocate Program is seeking interns for its STAR (School-Based) team in the Columbus region. The internships offer hands-on experience in providing mental health services, case management, and community-based support to youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family mental health services
• Perform case management
• Transport youth and families as needed
• Complete required documentation in a timely manner
• Participate in weekly supervision process
• Coordinate and monitor services for youth and families in mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services
• Regularly review and modify youth-based plans to ensure consistent progress and success on plan goals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution
• Enrolled in an accredited institution for a Master’s Degree in Social Work or Master’s in Clinical Counseling
• An internship or field placement is a requirement by the institution
• Experience working in direct service with youth and families is preferred
• A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours
• Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function
• Proficient use of various computer software and devices
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Good driving record and minimum automobile insurance coverage

Qualifications

• Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)

Skills

• Proficiency with desktop and laptop computers
• Proficiency with smart phones and tablets
• Proficiency with printers, fax machines, and photocopiers
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software

Benefits
