About the role

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Safety Coach to join the behavioral health team. We are hiring for a full-time, night shift position (7:00 pm to 7:00 am) with weekend rotation. Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety, quality, and patient experience. Responsibilities

• Facilitates the debrief of a safety event or safety concern.
• Participates in safety meetings and serves on the workplace violence committee.
• Educates, trains, and mentors Clinical Technicians and Mental Health Technicians on aspects of safety incident reporting.
• Disseminates and delivers safety messaging as appropriate to the organization.
• Provides direct care to patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant clinical work experience.
• Basic Life Support certification required upon start.
• Vistelar certification required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Psychiatry, Mental Health, and Behavioral Health background.
• Prior de-escalation training/experience.
• Experience in an acute environment, especially a variety of acute psychiatric environments.
