Behavioral Health Professional (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Psychologist)

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) is involved in working with all disciplines on the Behavioral Health Unit to attain effectiveness in serving the patient population in a correctional environment. The BHP provides direct, evidence-based mental-health care and delivers assessment, treatment, and crisis-intervention services that support individual well-being, institutional security, and successful re-entry.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a Licensed, Master’s Level Behavioral Health Clinician who can assess and make treatment decisions, and provide Mental Health treatment
• Must hold one of the following licenses in the state of Florida - LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or Licensed Psychologist; intern and provisional licensures also accepted

Essential Functions

• Performs individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate
• Performs administrative consults for specialized social services as determined by the specific needs of the Institution
• Performs specific psychiatric social service work on the Behavioral Health Unit of a Correctional Facility
• Affords assistance in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects
• May direct special projects as requested
• Participates in and conducts in-service programs, as well as assists in the orientation of new staff and provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports
• Attends training and meetings as required
