About the role

Maine Arts Academy is a free Charter Public School serving grades 7-12.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral health services to students and staff
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate mental health support into the curriculum
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Maine as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Experience working with adolescents and/or individuals with behavioral health needs

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Pass a background check

Skills

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care
  • Experience with evidence-based practices
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
