Behavioral Health Patient Coordinator/ Receptionist

As a Behavioral Health Patient Coordinator/Receptionist, you will provide general assistance, information, referrals, and scheduling for individuals and families seeking Behavioral Health Services. This role represents the quality of service delivery to the community and requires strong interpersonal skills, patience, and problem-solving abilities in crisis or conflict situations. You will implement a screening and triage process to assist families in determining necessary services.
Responsibilities
- Manage front desk, greet clients, and manage office supplies.
- Confirm coverage details including deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance amounts.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering patient questions about their insurance and benefits.
- Implement a screening and triage process to assist potential clients in determining necessary services.
- Answer, return, and schedule client calls.
- Schedule follow-up and intake appointments as needed.
- Add, update, and edit scheduling services.
- Complete all data entry for pre-admission, including identifying information, reason for referral, relevant history, and payor type information.
- Identify emergent or complex cases and seek clinical review prior to finalizing the patient's appointment.
- Maintain confidentiality of all clinical and administrative information consistent with agency policy.
- Maintain a working relationship with managerial, administrative, and clinical staff to ensure efficiency in day-to-day responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in front office work preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs and excellent data entry skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquette.
- Ability to maintain confidential records.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at an office desk on the computer.
- Able to lift up to 15 lbs.
Travel Requirements
The home office will be in Tinley Park, and staff will be asked to provide coverage at our Schaumburg location as needed. Mileage will be reimbursed at $0.72 per mile.
Pay
$18 USD - $22 USD per hour.
