Behavioral Health Oncology Nurse
About the role
The Specialty Behavioral Health Oncology Nurse role at Thyme Care is dedicated to supporting members living with concurrent cancer and complex behavioral health needs. This role collaborates closely with the Care Team, including Social Work and Community Health Workers, to address behavioral health barriers and support members throughout their cancer journey.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing, longitudinal nursing support for members with behavioral health concerns ranging from mild adjustment to severe mental illness.
- Maintain trust with providers to optimize care and prevent readmissions.
- Conduct telephonic assessments, including pain assessments and medication reconciliation.
- Coordinate care and educate members and caregivers about their diagnosis and treatment using telemedicine and telephonic platforms.
- Prepare charts with up-to-date member information and actively participate in interdisciplinary case conferences.
- Manage queues, route urgent or complex issues, and adhere to Care Team policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with non-clinical Care Team members to address social determinants of health and support coordinated care delivery.
- Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders and external partners to support member care.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- A multi-state, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) compact license.
- At least 5 years of nursing experience, including 2 years in advanced clinical judgment and problem-solving skills in complex, non-linear behavioral health cases.
- Prior experience in oncology nursing is preferred.
- Certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) is preferred and must be obtained within 2 years of hire.

Benefits
Thyme Care offers a competitive salary range starting at $46.35 per hour, with the potential for higher rates based on qualifications and experience. The role is also eligible for bonuses.
Pay
The hourly rate for this role is $46.35. The salary range could be lower or higher depending on qualifications and experience.

This role is full-time and requires availability during standard business hours.
