About the role
The Behavioral Health NP provides care to client employees in our Health Center located in Columbus, IN. The schedule is PRN as needed.
Responsibilities
- Uses clinical judgments in conducting health assessments, making differential diagnoses, and prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
- Plans and implements care through independent action, health counseling, and collaboration with other members of the health team.
- Assists in the administration of health care policy and procedure of the delivery of on-site health services.
- Promotes optimum health, prevents illness and injury, and manages acute and chronic health problems in the on-site setting.
- Facilitates members and their dependents in identifying and resolving personal issues of a psychological nature including but not limited to substance abuse, behavioral health disorders, crises, and other family and life stressors.
- Minimizes barriers to behavioral health care and assists the clinical team in member engagement, changing behavior, and improving health outcomes.
- Utilizes provider resources and member/company health and welfare benefits efficiently and cost-effectively to facilitate improved psychological health.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science of Nursing
- Master’s degree in Science of Nursing (with a certificate stating Nursing)
- All nurse practitioner licenses/certificates to practice
- All RN licenses/certificates to practice
- State Prescriptive Authority (if applicable)
- Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable)
- New York ROPES registration
- Current national certification (ANCC or AANP required)
- Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification
- CPR (BLS for the Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer or ACLS)
- CAMS (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality) certification within 12 months of hire
- At least three years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice, or emergency department setting
- Prior counseling experience in the field of treatment of behavioral mental health including depression, mood disorders, alcoholism and drug dependency, family counseling, marital relationship, grief, loss, etc.
- Prior experience collaborating in an integrated behavioral health setting
Qualifications
- Total on-line courses will not be accepted for certification.
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
Skills
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
- Training skills a plus.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and workflow management skills preferred.
