As a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients with acute mental health needs in a dynamic inpatient behavioral health setting. Working alongside Registered Nurses and an interdisciplinary care team, you'll play a key role in promoting patient safety, stabilization, and recovery. From medication administration and patient monitoring to behavioral observation, crisis intervention, and care coordination, you'll help create a safe, therapeutic environment where patients can heal and thrive. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting
- Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks
- Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation to promote unit safety
- Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education
- Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation per policy and regulations
Qualifications
- Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- IV certification within 90 days of hire
