About the role

We are hiring for a Behavioral Health LPN position at RHA Health Services. This role involves supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges in the community, providing oversight and nursing care, and adhering to standards of nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Reports client’s social, psychological and physical behavior as indicated.
  • Implements and ensures compliance with standards of nursing practice.
  • Ensures compliance with confidentiality regulations and HIPAA.
  • Attends applicable meetings and updates policies as necessary.
  • Provides professional nursing care including assessments, care, and treatment.
  • Performs nursing assessments and interventions with medication oversight and administration as needed.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in intervention techniques.
  • Supervise clinical staffing and provide regular staff meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Requirements

  • Unencumbered Nursing License.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Two years' experience working with Behavioral Health Clients preferred, not required.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of principles and techniques in the counseling of clients and effective delivery of community-based services.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of the disease of chemical dependency and its treatment.
  • Knowledge of resources available in the community to support recovery.
  • Knowledge of psychoactive substance abuse, dependency, and principles and techniques based on best practices.
  • Commitment to evidence-based treatment and preventative methods.
  • Emotional stability, maturity, warmth, openness, and ability to work effectively with a diverse, indigent population.
  • More than five (5) years continuous sobriety and/or recovery from mood altering drugs, with active participation in recovery, if applicable.
  • Knowledge of federal confidentiality laws.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively.
  • Physical and mental capacity to perform duties without harm to self or others.

Skills

  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Pick up on nonverbal communication.
  • Eager to work on nonstandard nursing assignments.
