About the role

As a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) at Attain Behavioral Health, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome substance abuse challenges and achieve lasting recovery. You will work closely with our team of professionals to provide support and assistance to clients, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for their rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate support to clients by actively participating in their treatment plans, including group therapy sessions and individual counseling.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines (HIPAA, Title 42 CFR Part 2).
• Offer educational resources and information to clients and their families to enhance their understanding of addiction and the recovery process.
• Work closely with licensed counselors, therapists, and other team members to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
• Assist in managing crisis situations and providing emotional support to clients in distress.
• Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the legal and healthcare systems.
• Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards in accordance with state regulations and Attain Behavioral Health's policies.
• Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions and support groups, creating a safe and supportive environment for group members to share experiences, provide peer support, and develop coping strategies.
• Provide one-on-one counseling and support to clients, addressing their specific needs, challenges, and progress in recovery.
• Collaborate with clients to set achievable goals and monitor their progress.
• Conduct client intake assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate group and individual counseling sessions under the supervision of a licensed counselor.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to client care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
• Valid Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification in Ohio.
• Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) Certification.
• Qualified Mental Health Specialist III (QMHS III) (Preferred).
• Previous experience in a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting is preferred.
