About the role
Arlington County DHS is hiring experienced Behavioral Health Clinicians to serve as Emergency Services Clinicians in the Client Services Entry (CSE) Bureau of the Behavioral Healthcare Division (BHD).
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive crisis intervention and stabilization to persons with serious mental illness, dual diagnoses, and acute psychiatric and substance abuse-related issues.
- Prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and lengthy emergency department stays.
- De-escalate and prevent future crises.
Requirements
- Experience in behavioral health or related field.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally competent practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
- Current licensure/certification as a Behavioral Health Clinician.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Benefits
- $2500.00 gross signing bonus at hire.
- $2500.00 gross bonus at the completion of the probationary period.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with some evening and weekend shifts as needed.
