About the role

At Crisis Connections, crisis clinicians provide real-time clinical decision-making, guide life-saving interventions, and serve as trusted clinical leaders supporting the front-line staff who answer the call.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical assessment, suicide risk evaluation, and crisis intervention via telephone
  • Serve as the clinical lead on shift, offering real-time consultation, coaching, and support to crisis phone staff and volunteers
  • Collapse crisis response, including hospital diversion, triage, and one-call coordination with first responders
  • Authorize inpatient services using clinical judgment and least-restrictive care principles
  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to high clinical and ethical standards
  • Collaborate with community partners, hospitals, mobile crisis teams, and public mental health agencies

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a social science or related field
  • Eligible for or pursuing Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) licensure or higher (Licensure costs reimbursed; support provided)
  • At least 2 years of supervised clinical experience working with individuals experiencing serious mental illness
  • Strong clinical judgment, calm decision-making, and comfort in high-pressure situations
  • Prior leadership, supervision, or consultation experience strongly preferred

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible for or have obtained Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) licensure or higher
  • Must have at least 2 years of supervised clinical experience working with individuals experiencing serious mental illness
  • Must have strong clinical judgment, calm decision-making, and comfort in high-pressure situations
  • Must have prior leadership, supervision, or consultation experience

Pay

  • $36.16/hour base salary
  • $4/hour graveyard differential
