About the role

We are seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician to join our School Based program serving Oakland County. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children with severe emotional disturbance and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, conjoint or family psychotherapy and support services to children with severe emotional disturbance and their family.
  • Conducts clinical assessments, develops diagnoses, and participates in developing person/family-centered treatment plans with client families.
  • Maintains an electronic record which includes required documentation of services provided, progress notes, treatment plans, periodic reviews and client rights documents.
  • Participates in individual supervision and team meetings to review progress, identify barriers and develop strategies for better assisting families in reaching their goals.
  • Maintains full compliance of clients on caseload will have MichiCANS completed minimally every 6 months or as identified in clinical record.
  • Provides 24/7 crisis intervention availability on a rotation basis to help offset potential risk of self-harm or conditions which could lead to out of home treatment.
  • Ensures that paperwork is maintained in accordance with funder requirements as well as Easterseals policies and procedures.
  • Assesses, reviews all requests for services and authorizes medically necessary services for all individuals served. Only implements therapeutic modalities approved by Easterseals Michigan.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma informed care and co-occurring disorders. Willingness to support and assist individuals served with trauma-related issues utilizing TFCBT, CBITS and/or trauma-informed practices.
  • Attends school meetings/provides consultation regarding mutual individuals served.
  • Maintains school partnerships by respecting school policies and personnel, speaking the language within schools, ie PBIS, MTSS, etc.
  • Provides community trainings and/or participates in community/school events to promote Easterseals services.
  • Writes clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effects.
  • Uses different systems of communication with internal and external customers such as Microsoft Teams, eVisit, Zoom and iPhone.
  • Uses internal programs such as EMR, Microsoft Excel, Office 365 and PowerPoint to maintain data integrity.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, or LPC licensed in Michigan.
  • Mets Michigan CMHP requirements, including specialized training and at least 1 year of experience providing assessment and treatment to minors and their families.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
