BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINICIAN (RPC Residential)
JOB DUTIES
Provides direct services to consumers including crisis intervention, mental health assessment, and therapy for individuals, groups, children, couples, and families, at a level established by the unit.
Develops comprehensive mental health and case management plans in an accurate and timely manner.
Assesses crisis situations and determines the best intervention utilizing local community agencies and FNA resources.
Provides on-going clinical training to BHS staff, to include facilitation of groups to model appropriate group techniques.
Participates in clinical case staffing in collaboration with clinical team. When necessary, coordinates case conferences with other service providers.
Conducts mental health screening and assessment for residential programs. Intervenes in crisis situations that may occur on the residential unit.
Participates in professional development and quality assurance activities for individuals as well as the unit to improve the quality of service provided.
Provides case management/file documentation in accordance with established standards, and submit reports (i.e., required for MIS reporting, consumer billing, etc.) and other data in an accurate and timely manner.
Attends staff meetings, in-service trainings, and presents cases for routine/problematic staffing as needed, including participation in interdisciplinary treatment team.
Participates as a member of the treatment team.
Maintains consumer confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPPA.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in counseling and conducting mental health assessments.
- Experience with both adult and adolescent population.
- National or State Substance Abuse Counselor Certification Level II required within one year of hire.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the dynamics of chemical dependency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
