Core Responsibilities
- Organize and facilitate committee reviews
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation
- Monitor timelines and track recommendations through to resolution
- Ensure identified risks, conditions, and action items are addressed
- Conduct screenings for co-occurring disorders
- Accurately recognize diagnostic criteria related to substance use disorders
- Provide appropriate support to individuals experiencing trauma-related concerns
- Complete comprehensive assessments and analyses
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other significant information
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Ensure all documentation and records comply with Medicaid requirements, Department of Community Health regulations, and Easterseals MORC policies and procedures
- Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid Provider Manual guidelines and other applicable regulatory and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of trauma informed care
- Willingness to support and assist individuals with trauma related issues
- Ability to schedule BTPRC and HSRC meetings in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements
- Ability to develop, organize, and distribute agendas for all BTPRC and HSRC meetings
- Ability to verify that meetings meet quorum requirements
- Ability to facilitate meetings by guiding discussion, soliciting relevant data, and ensuring all criteria for BTP approval or continuation are met
- Ability to support committee determinations regarding the continuation, modification, or discontinuation of behavior treatment plans
- Ability to ensure accurate completion and timely upload of meeting minutes into the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ability to ensure presenters complete required progress notes in the EMR following meetings
- Ability to maintain current knowledge of BTPRC requirements set forth by the State of Michigan and all local PIHPs
- Ability to provide oversight to the Behavior Supports Committee/BTPRC as directed by leadership
- Ability to verify that required special consents are obtained in compliance with BTPRC technical requirements
- Ability to ensure staff receive training on approved BTPs and that training is documented using the Universal IPOS Training Record form
- Ability to confirm approved BTPs are uploaded into the Individual Plan of Service (IPOS)
- Ability to compile and submit required quarterly BTP data reports to MDHHS via Excel format and forward submissions to the PIHP
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate expedited approval processes for behavior plans requiring authorization outside of scheduled BTPRC meetings due to emergent needs
- Ability to provide consultation and technical assistance related to BTPRC processes
