Behavioral Health Clinician

About the Role

The Behavioral Health Clinician provides clinical services within an Article 31 OMH certified outpatient MHOTRS clinic and CCBHC Demonstration Site. The clinics serve diverse communities, offering trauma-informed, evidence-based, and culturally affirming care to individuals of all ages and their families. Services include evaluations, individual/group/family therapy, care coordination, and crisis interventions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and psychosocial assessments.
• Develop and revise treatment plans in collaboration with clients and family members to address evolving needs and goals.
• Provide individual, group, family, collateral, and crisis intervention services.
• Practice self-reflection and awareness of how clinical and administrative work impacts clients, families, and communities.
• Approach work with an anti-racist lens and commit to continuous learning and growth.
• Coordinate care with families, schools, criminal justice systems, and other community agencies.
• Participate in clinical meetings, staff meetings, supervision, and required training; receive constructive feedback.
• Maintain documentation according to Jewish Board, regulatory, and funding standards.
• Adhere to professional behaviors and ethical standards as defined by licensing boards and organizational policies.
• Attend case conferences, maintain an active caseload, and meet minimum expectations for kept visits (additional duties as assigned).

Requirements

• Master’s degree in counseling, creative arts, or social work from an accredited program.
• New York State License or limited permit in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Creative Arts Therapy (LCAT), Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), or Social Work (LMSW).
• Experience treating children or adolescents preferred.
• Fluency in a second language preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency in documenting within electronic health records and using Microsoft Office software.
• Experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
• Ability to read paper and electronic documents and perform data entry.

Schedule

Hybrid work setting combining in-person and remote work. Time allocation and locations are determined in collaboration with the Senior Program Director based on program and client needs. Travel between program locations and other Jewish Board sites is required.
