Behavioral Health Associate - Part Time

About the Role

This is a key part-time role providing a safe, nurturing environment for adult clients with co-occurring disorders (substance use disorder and mental health disorders) at The Camp Recovery Center, a 74-bed treatment center offering inpatient and outpatient services.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to patients under clinical or nursing leadership.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15-minute intervals or as individualized.
• Document timely, accurate, and appropriate clinical information in patient medical records.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and significant others.
• Observe patient behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
• Oversee or assist patients with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, hydration, and changing bed linens).
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, height, and weight as assigned.
• Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups on topics such as social skills, coping skills, anger management, and independent living skills.
• Engage patients in activities to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
• Complete and maintain required documentation.
• Assist with incident follow-up and paperwork.
• Provide or coordinate patient transportation as needed.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude; resolve patient complaints and prioritize patient safety.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience working with the facility’s specific population preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Pay

Hourly range for this role in California: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Part-time position: Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Both day and evening shifts available, 8 hours per shift, overtime eligible.
