Behavioral Health Associate I

About the role

This is an at-will direct service position responsible for assisting members in achieving their goals, advocating for them, and providing support in areas such as medication management, housing, vocation, and counseling.

Responsibilities

• Affirms members in meeting their goals and provides vocational support
• Develops and implements activities, programming, and groups
• Facilitates communication and cooperation among agencies
• Supports medication outreach and coordinates communication between doctors, clients, and pharmacies
• Educates the community and other agencies
• Drives personal and/or agency vehicle on agency business including transportation of members to and from appointments and activities as well as field visits/medication outreach
• Provides prompt intervention in crises, notifying necessary parties for resolution
• Maintains client records and completes required documentation and data entry according to program standards
• Assists clients with accessing and maintaining appropriate housing
• Maintains the safety, health, and well-being of members
• Manages work hours and time effectively as coordinated with the Program Director or designee

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Less than two years of full-time equivalent experience providing direct mental health services
• Lived experience is a plus
• Two to four years of full-time equivalent experience providing direct mental health services preferred
• California driver's license and current vehicle insurance/registration
• Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old (excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport)

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or accredited GED program
• Working less than two years full-time equivalent experience providing direct mental health services
• Preferred: Two to four years of full-time equivalent experience providing direct mental health services

Friday to Sunday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (Part-Time)
