Responsibilities

- Develops therapeutic helping relationships with clients based on unconditional positive regard, empathy, and honesty.
- Provides individual, family, and group counseling and/or psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, and elders.
- Conducts substance use disorder assessments and/or be assigned to substance use disorder treatment groups.
- Engages in regular clinical supervision with BH Clinical Director or designee to incorporate outcome-informed feedback into clinical practice.
- Works closely with the BH treatment team, including Case Managers, Intake Coordinator, and other BH staff.
- Supports other KANA villages/BHAs and takes clients from Kodiak or other villages onto caseload.
- Participates in Village Response Teams (VRT) for behavioral and other crisis intervention and assistance.
- Organizes and assists with alcohol/drug-free social activities for youth and adults to promote good health.
- Participates in Health Fair, Spirit Camp, and Family Recovery Camps as needed.
- Provides community health education through regular classes/presentations in schools and community.
- Distributes written health information materials to the public.
- Offers informal Behavioral Health supports to village members, such as visiting elders, attending community events, or engaging with individuals not yet ready to seek formal services.
- Prepares and submits required reports and activity sheets in accordance with grant/contracts established protocols.
- Completes administrative and clinical documentation in a timely manner to maintain program compliance.
- Serves as a point of contact for patients needing information about appointments in the village clinic.
- Completes patient call reminders for appointments and assesses barriers for missed appointments.
- Attends all required staff and clinical supervision meetings.
- Attends and completes required classes for completion of the BHA training program (through RHS or alternative).
- Participates in outcome-informed treatment practices, including engagement in Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROM), regular clinical supervision, review of session recordings, and incorporation of clinical feedback into practice.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and six months related experience and/or training.
- Completion of an approved program leading to progressive certification as a BHA/P through the Community Health Aide Program Certification Board within approved period after hire.
