Behavioral Health Advisor

About the role

We are excited to announce the opening of our fifth Adult Mental Health Residential Program within Lancaster County. This immediate hiring opportunity is open to compassionate, patient individuals who are excellent communicators and enthusiastic collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and implementation of each individual's Treatment/Support/Recovery Plan.
• Aid individuals in managing the symptoms of their mental illness and establishing their own recovery plan.
• Support individuals in developing appropriate skill-building necessary for living independently in the community.
• Utilize community resources to promote community integration, independence, and interdependence.
• Communicate and cooperate with on-site team, individual’s family, involved agencies, and the community as needed.
• Provide support and assistance in arranging for medical care when necessary and follow health care recommendations.
• Prepare meals, including individuals where regulations allow, and encourage adherence to dietary guidelines.
• Model for team members and support them in shadowing and training during task completion.
• Conduct fire drills, manage emergency situations during assigned work shifts, and provide coverage in emergency situations.
• Assist individuals in monitoring and/or administering medications.
• Be willing to learn and model the five principles of trauma-informed care: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment.
• Have a commitment to promoting cultural, racial, language, and gender access, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency and related personal, professional, or educational experience.
• A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individuals to appointments.
• Able to work flexible hours.

Pay

The base rate is $20.50/hr. Potential higher starting rates may be considered based on education and experience. An additional $1.00/hr shift differential is offered for hours worked between 10 PM to 6 AM.

Schedule

This position is available full-time, part-time, and per diem (flexible) with weekday (afternoon/evening), overnight (sleep & awake), and weekend hours. A sleep overnight position is available in Lancaster.
