Duties and responsibilities

  • Managing incoming and outgoing phone calls, telephone encounters, faxes, and voicemails, including on Saturdays.
  • Managing department’s supply of BH marketing materials
  • Providing clerical and administrative support to the Behavioral Health team, including responding to Behavioral Health Admin Team emails, scanning documents into the Electronic Health Record, sending letters to Behavioral Health patients, & managing any returned mail
  • Scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling appointments for patients/families
  • Auditing patients who are no-showing or cancelling appointments to assist with reengaging patients
  • Auditing patients for registration paperwork completion and managing patient roster completion of registration documents (including discount program forms, consents, and payments) for revenue cycle and compliance
  • Supporting specialty programs within/adjacent to BH as needed by scheduling, canceling, rescheduling appointments, calling patients, and following up other administrative needs of these programs
  • Managing behavioral health insurance verification of benefits and authorizations
  • Performing data entry into the electronic health record (EPIC)
  • Completing all required documentation to fulfill these job functions in a timely manner and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Performing other necessary administrative duties and project support that may arise as required by the Director of Behavioral Health Operations and/or as required by FHCHC to achieve the goal of providing high quality behavioral health services and/or improving the functions of the department
  • Supporting other patient access needs within the organization as necessary

Qualifications

  • A GED is required; An Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish; one year of customer service experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience working with behavioral health patients is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a high energy, quickly paced environment and maintain a professional attitude is essential
