Behavioral Consultant- Ph.D or BCBA
About the role
The Behavioral Consultant at Advocates provides clinical consultation to individuals with developmental disabilities, families, residential programs, vocational programs, and schools as referred by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). They develop assessment, intervention, and monitoring strategies, coordinate or provide training for staff, assist in training, supervision, and evaluation of Behavioral Treatment Specialists, manage the program's fiscal needs, respond to emergency evaluations and interventions, and provide on-call services.
Responsibilities
- Provides clinical consultation to individuals with developmental disabilities, families, residential programs, vocational programs and schools as referred by DDS.
- Develops assessment, intervention, and monitoring strategies.
- Coordinates or provides training for staff working with individuals with developmental disabilities on their caseload.
- Affords assistance in training, supervision, and evaluation of Behavioral Treatment Specialists.
- Ensures the proper utilization of the agency's financial resources.
- Responds to referrals for emergency evaluations and interventions as requested by DDS and other authorized individuals.
- Provides on-call services as part of a rotation including other consultants in the program.
Requirements
- Ph.D in psychology or related field OR a BCBA with extensive knowledge in learning and behavior change and a minimum of 3 years experience working with developmentally disabled individuals exhibiting severe behavior problems.
- A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
- Sensitivity to clients and the ability to treat them with dignity and respect.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Access to an operational and insured vehicle and willingness to use it to transport clients.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree.

Pay
- $87,500-$93,000 for BCBA
- $90,000-$93,000 for Ph.D
- a sign-on bonus applicable to external candidates only.
Schedule
This position is 20 hours in Fall River and 20 hours covering the region, which involves travel. The Behavioral Consultant is responsible for providing behavioral consultation, intervention, and therapy to individuals as referred by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
