About the role

The Intensive Autism Technician provides direct services to children diagnosed with Autism, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis principles. Duties include natural environment training, skills-based treatment, data collection, and intensive autism intervention. This role involves supporting individuals diagnosed with Autism who reside at Damar, assisting the treatment team, and participating in Behavior Skills Training and Practical Functional Assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services to children diagnosed with Autism
  • Participate in Behavior Skills Training (BST)
  • Assist during Practical Functional Assessments
  • Operate Damar vehicles and/or personal vehicles to transport clients or perform other work-related duties
  • Complete incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client
  • Serve as a member of Damar Services' interdisciplinary team
  • Prioritize duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth
  • Act as a good steward of Damar and/or client finances

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience working with children with neurodivergence is preferred but not required
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification
  • Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements

Skills

  • Demonstrates confidence when making decisions in the moment regarding Skills Based Treatment
  • Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings and other meetings as assigned
  • Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops as recommended by the Intensive Autism leadership team

Pay

$18.50 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule

2nd Shift - 3:00pm to 11:30pm
