Behavioral Assistant (Hudson County)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the home and community to both youth and caregivers
  • Implement treatment plans
  • Deliver services as directed by the supervising therapist, including:
    • Using evidence-based interventions and positive reinforcement
    • Aid parents/guardians with treatment plan implementation
    • Collect, track, and report progression or regression (including graphs when required)
    • Submit accurate weekly clinical progress notes within 24 hours of service provision
    • Assist with caregiver/staff training under the guidance of a supervising therapist
  • Recognize, prevent, and intervene in crisis situations appropriately
  • Participate in required training and maintain compliance with all agency policies

Qualifications

  • Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in behavioral healthcare, preferably working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities or mental illness
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
  • Must pass all state and federal background checks
  • A pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
